अन्ध-विश्वास के साथ मेरी जंग : कुछ अनुभव -14

“जैसे ही हम टीकावन (तिलक) के लिये लडकी वालो के घर पहुँचे तो एक अजीब सी महिला पर नजर पडी। उसने रस्म अदायगी के दौरान मेरा एक बाल तोड लिया। मेरी समझ मे कुछ नही आया। मुझे अपना बाल उसी समय वापस ले लेना चाहिये था। उस महिला ने बाल को अन्य बालो के साथ गूँथा और एक पुतली (गुडिया) तैयार कर ली। अब वह जो गुडिया को करती उसका सीधा असर मुझ पर होता। वह पेट पर वार करती तो मेरे पेट मे असहनीय दर्द होता है। वह उसे पटक देती तो मै भी उससे कोसो दूर अपने स्थान पर गिर जाता था।“ किशोर कुमार के सदाबहार गीतो के बीच मुझे कार की पिछली सीट से मेरे एक ग्रामीण सहायक की बाते सुनायी पड रही थी। इस उम्मीद मे कि मै सामने वाली सीट पर बैठा हल्की नीन्द मे होऊँगा, वह अपने साथी और ड्रायवर से बतियाये जा रहा था। इस सहायक की पहली शादी सफल नही हुयी थी। शायद वह इसी का किस्सा सुना रहा था। बालो से पुतली बनाने और फिर उसके माध्यम से किसी पर वश करने की बात से मुझे बचपन मे पढी फैंटम की एक कहानी याद आ गयी। हम लोग हिन्दी मे फैटम को पढते थे इसलिये वह हमारे लिये वेताल हुआ करता था। वेताल याने चलता-फिरता प्रेत, ली फाक और बेरी द्वारा। वेताल की एक कथा मे राष्ट्रपति लुआगा को मारने के लिये कुछ लोग षडयंत्र करते है तो आफ्रीकी ओझाओ की मदद लेते है। ओझा लुआगा का पुतला बनाते है और फिर उसे पिन चुभोकर धीरे-धीरे मारते जाते है। असल मे दूसरे लोग लुआगा पर हमला करने वाले होते है पर आम लोगो को बताया जाता है कि पुतले को पिन चुभोने का असर हो रहा है। ‘तिल-तिल कर मरेगा लुआगा’-यह डायलाग आज तक मुझे याद है।
हमारी गाडी घने जंगलो से गुजर रही थी। सहायक ने अपनी बात कहनी जारी रखी। “उस महिला ने मुझ पर जादू करने तीन शोधे को लगा रखा था। मै अपने घर मे रहता तो बीमार पड जाता पर जैसे ही जीजा के घर जाता, सारी समस्याए हल हो जाती। मुझे तीन महिने बाद नवरात्रि मे बलि देने की तैयारी थी। पर अचानक ही एक तांत्रिक आ गया जिसने मुझे कडे परिश्रम के बाद बचा लिया।“ मेरे सहायक की बाते रुचिकर थी। कम से कम रास्ता काटने के लिये तो ऐसी बातो की माँग सदा रहती है। जो कहानी उसने अभी-अभी खत्म की थी उसे मै देश भर मे अलग-अलग लोगो से सुन चुका हूँ। बस पात्र बदल जाते है। यहाँ शोधे को पीछे लगाने की बात कही गयी। (मुझे उम्मीद है कि आप इस लेखमाला को शुरु से पढ रहे होंगे। इसलिये मै एक ही बात को बार-बार दोहरा नही रहा हूँ। आपने पहले पढा ही है कैसे गाँव की अकेली महिला को जादू-टोना करने वाली टोनही कह दिया जाता है छत्तीसगढ मे। शोधे को 12 टोहनियो से मिलकर अधिक शक्ति वाला पात्र बताया जाता है।) मध्यप्रदेश मे इस तरह की कथाओ मे नजर की बात जोड दी जाती है। झारखंड मे यह किसी और रुप मे सामने आता है। यह काला जादू और इससे जुडी एक ही तरह की कथाए आफ्रीका से लेकर पूरे भारत और इसी तरह पूरी दुनिया मे फैली हुयी है और सारी की सारी महिलाओ को निशाना बनाती है। चाहे ग्रामीण समाज हो या शहरी समाज किसी ने किसी रुप मे यह आम लोगो के मन मे दहशत के रुप मे उपस्थित है।
मुझे कुछ न कहता पाकर सहायक ने अपनी जीवन-गाथा जारी रखी। ड्रायवर ने उससे पहली शादी के असफल होंने के बाद वर्तमान प्रेमिका के बारे मे पूछा तो वह झेप गया। उसने अपने आप को फँसता और प्रेमिका के बारे मे राज खुलते देखकर एक और कथा रच डाली। उसने कहा “जब मै पहले पहल प्रेमिका के घर गया तो उसने मुझे खाना खिलाया। मुझे और अपने पति को साथ-साथ बिठाया।“ ओह माई गाड। इसका मतलब है इसकी प्रेमिका पहले से शादीशुदा है-मैने मन ही मन कहा। “ प्रेमिका ने हम दोनो को सब्जी परोसी। एक ही सब्जी पर दोनो को अलग-अलग पात्र मे दिया। मुझे परोसी गयी सब्जी मे उसने कुछ वनस्पतियाँ मिला दी।“ वनस्पतियो का नाम सुनकर मेरे कान खडे हो गये।“ ये वनस्पतियाँ मोहनी थी। इस सब्जी को खाने के बाद मै मोहपाश मे बन्ध गया और चाहकर भी उससे छूट नही पा रहा हूँ।“ मुझे मोहनी का नाम सुनते ही बडी हँसी आयी। मोहनी वाली वनस्पतियो की कथा भी कपोल-कल्पित है। मैने इस नाम की कितनी ही वनस्पतियो की परीक्षा की पर इसे देने वाला तांत्रिक मुझे मोहने मे सफल नही हुआ। भारतीय समाज नारी को देवी के रुप मे पूजता है पर अपने घर और आस-पास की नारी को पग-पग मे अपमानित करता रहता है। अब सहायक की ही कथा सुने। किसी का बसा-बसाया परिवार उजाडने का काम वह खुद कर रहा है पर पकडे जाने पर कैसे चतुराई से मोहनी का नाम लेकर अपनी प्रेमिका को कुसूरवार ठहरा रहा है। अपने दिल फेक गुण के कारण उसकी शादी असफल हुयी पर अपनी गल्ती को न स्वीकारते हुये वह बालो और पुतली वाली कहानी गढ रहा है। ऐसे ही ढाल की तरह जब तक इस तरह की कथाओ को आधुनिक समाज अपनाता रहेगा तब तक हम कितनी भी कोशिश कर ले समाज से अन्ध-विश्वास को नही हटा सकते है।
“जब पेट मे दर्द हुआ तो डाक्टर के पास क्यो नही गये? कौन सी तारीखे को तुम गिरे थे। उस दिन तो तुम यहाँ मेरे घर पर थे।“ मैने सहायक पर प्रश्नो की झडी लगा दी तो वह घबरा गया। जल्दी ही उसने आत्म-समर्पण कर दिया। मैने उसे समझाया इस छलावे से बाहर निकलो। कहानियाँ गढकर अपने आप को धोखे मे मत रखो। बस इससे ज्यादा मैने कुछ नही कहा। शायद उसे मेरी बात बुरी लगी। उसने काम छोड दिया। बात आयी-गयी हो गयी। थोडे दिनो बाद उसका फोन आया। चहकते हुये बोला कि सर मै पत्नी से माफी माँगकर उसे वापस ले आया हूँ। प्रेमिका को छोड दिया है। अब मै सुधर रहा हूँ। मुझे विश्वास नही हुआ। मैने सोचा कि हो सकता है कि यह नयी कथा हो पर बाद मे ड्रायवर उसके घर होकर आया और इसकी पुष्टि की। मेरा सहायक काले जादू की कथाओ से फिलहाल मुक्त हो गया है। पर ये कथाए अब भी विद्यमान है समाज मे। और सुविधानुसार ढाल के रुप मे अपने कुकर्मो को छुपाने चतुर इसका प्रयोग करेंगे। इससे अन्ध-विश्वास को बढावा मिलेगा और महिलाओ पर जुल्म होते रहेंगे। (क्रमश:)
