अन्ध-विश्वास के साथ मेरी जंग : कुछ अनुभव -15

छोटी-सी पहाडी के नीचे बसे एक गाँव के पास हर्रा के पेड को देखकर मै रुक गया। पेड फलो से लदे हुये थे। मै तस्वीरे उतारने लगा। मेरा ड्रायवर और सहयात्री दो ग्रामीण गाडी से उतरकर आस-पास वनस्पतियो को खोजने लगे। दूर खेतो मे किसान अपने परिवार सहित काम कर रहे थे। हर्रा के बाद मै पास के महुआ पेड मे उग रहे आर्किड की तस्वीरे उतारने मे जुट गया। अचानक ‘भाग साहब भाग’ की आवाज से मेरा ध्यान टूटा। पीछे देखा तो तीनो लोग हडबडी मे गाडी की ओर भाग रहे थे। गाडी याने टाटा इंडिका। वे जल्दीबाजी मे गाडी के अन्दर घुस गये। लगातार मुझे आवाज लगाते रहे। उनकी आवाज मे डर था। फिर जब उन्हे कार सुरक्षित नही जान पडी तो वे पास के घरो की ओर दौडने लगे। उन्होने पीछे मुडकर देखना बन्द कर दिया था। घरो के दरवाजे खुलवाये और फिर अन्दर गायब हो गये। वहाँ से फिर आवाजे आने लगी, ‘भाग साहब भाग’। मैने पहले समझा कि तेन्दुआ या भालू आ गया होगा। पर आस-पास कुछ दिखा नही। दिन मे उनके आने की सम्भावना कम थी क्योकि वे दिन मे ऐसे घने जंगलो मे रहना अधिक पसन्द करते है जहाँ रोशनी नही आती। इससे वे आँखो मे झूमने वाले कीडो से मुक्त रहते है। रात मे वे निकलते है।
मै आवाजे सुनकर घबरा रहा था पर मेरी समझ मे कुछ आ नही रहा था। अचानक कुछ दूरी पर एक महिला नजर आयी जिसके बाल बिखरे हुये थे और कपडे फटे से थे। वह घूरकर मेरी ओर ही देख रही थी। उसका घूरना अच्छा नही लग रहा था पर और कोई विशेष उसमे नही था। क्या वे तीनो इससे डर पर भागे है? मन मे प्रश्न आया और दूसरे पल ही लगा कि नही तीन हट्टे-कट्टे लोग भला क्यो इस तरह से भागेंगे, वो भी एक महिला से डरकर। इस बीच दो लोग मेरे पीछे आये। वे नीम की डाल रखे हुये थे और मुझे बलात खीचते हुये ले गये पास के घरो की ओर। वहाँ मुझे बताया कि वह जादू-टोना करने वाली महिला है। आप बाल-बाल बच गये।
मैने दूर से उस महिला पर नजर डाली पर फिर भी मुझे डर नही लगा। मैने इन लोगो का विरोध किया और पास जाकर बात करने की सलाह दी। पर कोई तैयार नही हुआ। यदि शहर होता तो मुझे विश्वास है बहुत से लोग तैयार हो जाते। मेरे बहुत कहने पर उन्होने नीम की डाल लेकर कुछ दूर तक चलने की सहमति दी पर अनमने ढंग से। पास गये तो महिला को देखकर यह स्पष्ट होने लगा कि वह मानसिक रुप से असंतुलित है। उसने शुरुआत से अब तक हमारा कोई बिगाड नही किया था। हमारे साथी बेकार ही डर रहे थे। एक बार गाजर घास नियंत्रण के लिये पास के मानसिक चिकित्सालय मे मुझे बुलाया गया। वहाँ मुझे इस तरह की बहुत सी महिलाए नजर आयी थी। उनका जादू-टोने से कोई सम्बन्ध नही था। यदि उस चिकित्सालय मे ये तीन पहुँच जाते तो शायद पल भर मे प्राण छोड देते।
आधे घंटे यूँ ही बीत गये। मुझे बोरियत होने लगी। अचानक एक ने चिल्लाकर कहा, ‘देखो, देखो वह गायब हो गयी।‘ गायब हो गयी? मैने उस ओर देखा तो वह सचमुच वहाँ नही थी। पर ध्यान से देखा तो एक चट्टान के पीछे उसकी साडी का किनारा दिखा। आगे बढे तो पता चला कि वह चट्टान की आड मे बैठ गयी थी। हम उससे डर रहे थे पर उसके चेहरे को देखकर साफ दिखता था कि वह हमसे ज्यादा डरी हुयी थी। मैने उन लोगो को घुडका ‘ये तो यहाँ बैठी है। बेकार मे गायब हो गयी है कहकर भ्रम फैला रहे हो। यदि हम भाग जाते तो कभी इस सत्य का पता कभी नही लगता।‘ मैने गाडी मे रखे केले निकाले और पास मे रखकर आ गया। उसके चेहरे के भाव और गहरे हो गये। उसने केले नही उठाये बल्कि कुछ दूर खिसक गयी। उसे अकेला छोडकर हम गाँव के अन्दर आ गये। लोगो से पूछा तो वे बोले ‘किस्मत की मारी है बेचारी। उसके पाँच बच्चे थे। एक-एक कर सभी गुजर गये और पिछले साल पति भी चला गया। दर-दर की ठोकरे खाती है। मौकापरस्त लोग उसे परेशान करते है। पहले कुछ खाने का प्रलोभन देते है फिर – फिर तो आप जानते ही है साहब।‘ हमे समझ आ गया कि क्यो उसने हमसे फल नही लिया। बहुत सोचा पर समझ नही आया कि कैसे इस महिला की मदद की जाये। पास के एक बुजुर्ग पारम्परिक चिकित्सक मे मिलना हुआ तो उम्मीद की किरण दिखी। उसने कहा कि मै औषधीयो से उसकी चिकित्सा कर सकता हूँ यदि गाँव वाले अनुमति दे तो। अब राह आसान हो गयी थी। थोडी सी बातचीत और पैसो से उसका इलाज शुरु हो गया।
भले ही मैने होम्योपैथी की पढाई की है और मनुष्य़ो से ज्यादा पौधो पर इन दवाओ का प्रयोग किया है पर मुझे ऐसा लगता था कि होम्योपैथिक दवा इग्नीशिया एमारा की एक खुराक उसे ठीक कर सकती है। आज उस घटना को सालो हो गये। कुछ ऐसी व्यवसायिक मजबूरियाँ हो गयी कि मै उस गाँव मे अब तक नही जा पाया हूँ। पर मुझे विश्वास है कि अब सब कुछ सुधर गया होगा। मै यह कर नही पाया पर मेरा बस चलता तो अपने तीनो साथियो को कुछ समय तक मानसिक चिकित्सालय मे अवश्य भर्ती करवाता क्योकि असली मानसिक असंतुलन तो उनमे था। (क्रमश:)
