सोमवार की जंगल यात्रा-१

डोंगर माफिया, मिट्टी खाते बन्दर और दिव्य औषधीयों की उपेक्षा
-पंकज अवधियाहमारा इन्तजार बेकार नहीं गया| कुछ ही देर में बंदरो की एक बड़ी सी टोली उसी स्थान पर दिखाई पडी| सारे बन्दर आस-पास के खेतों में बैठ गए जबकि उनका मुखिया उसी स्थान की ओर बढ़ा जहां नाना प्रकार के पंछी मिट्टी खाने आते हैं| इंसानों की तरह ही मिट्टी खाने का शौक दूसरे जीवो में भी होता है| अंगरेजी में इसे जिओफैगी कहा जाता है| इस पर बहुत विस्तार से शोध नहीं हुए हैं| कहा जाता है कि बहुत अधिक अम्लीय फल खाने के बाद पंछी मिट्टी खाते हैं|

बंदरों का मुखिया आराम से कभी हाथो से उठाकार तो कभी नीचे जमीन से मुंह लगाकर मिट्टी खाता रहा| यह एक अनोखा दृश्य था| बंदर उसी स्थान की मिट्टी क्यों खा रहा था, यह प्रश्न हमारे सामने था| हम तीन लोग यानि मैं, मेरा ड्रायवर और एक पारंपरिक चिकित्सक बड़ी निकटता से यह सब देखते रहे पर बन्दर बिनाडर मजे से मिट्टी खाता रहा| मैंने तस्वीरें ली और विडीयो भी बनाया| उस दिन पहली बार लगा कि जंगल जाने का फैसला सही था|

महंगे पेट्रोल से लेकर ड्रायवर के मेहनताने और फिर जंगल में पारंपरिक चिकित्सकों की फ़ौज के साथ चलने में काफी कुछ खर्च हो जाता है| एक दिन में हजारों के खर्च से निश्चित ही अमूल्य जानकारी मिलती है पर जब बहुत से काम सामने हो तो निर्णय लेने में दिक्कत होती है| आप जानते ही हैं कि मधुमेह की रपट के अपलोड का काम चल रहा है| यदि घर में रहा जाय और यह अपलोड जारी रखा जाए तो दो-तीन सौ एमबी का कार्य अपलोड हो सकता है| हजारो रुपये इसी रपट में लगाए जा सकते हैं| फिर अपनी जेब से जंगल घूमने के क्या फायदे? वो भी उस समय जब रपट में मारे कंसल्टेंसी का काम अटका हो| पर जब जगल पहुंच जाओ तो लगता है कि ठीक ही किया आकर|

दिल्ली से एक मित्र आने वाले थे पारंपरिक चिकित्सकों से मिलने| इसलिए जंगल जाकर उन्हें बताना था| उनके पास मोबाइल तो है नहीं इसलिए जाकर मिलना ही ठीक रहता है| उनसे कह दिया जाता है कि आप अपनी दिनचर्या में मशगूल रहे, हमारे कारण परेशान न हो| हां, यदि गांव से दूर जाएँ तो बता दे ताकि हम जंगल के उस हिस्से में हम आपको खोज ले| यह अच्छी बात है कि सरकारी आयोजन अब नहीं करने पड़ते| कालेज के बाद के दिनों में जब मैंने अपने गांव में नि:शुल्क कृषि परामर्श केंद्र खोला था तो सरकारी अधिकारी आते रहते थे| उनके लिए किसानो की भीड़ जमा करनी होती थी| किसानो का मन न हो तब भी उनसे मीठी बाते करने की मिन्नत लारनी पड़ती थी ताकि बड़े साहब प्रसन्न रहे| मुझसे उस समय यह ठीक से होता नहीं था| और बाहर का अधिकारी आकर हमारे गांव वाले को धकियाए यह बर्दाश्त नहीं होता था| आखिर मैंने अधिकारियों से दूरी बनाए रखने मे ही भलाई समझी| दिल्ली वाले हमारे मित्र के साथ ऐसा कोई बंधन नहीं है| वे बेबाक होकर लोगों से मिलते हैं ऐसा मैंने देखा है| इसलिए ताम-झाम के बारे में पारंपरिक चिकित्सको को नहीं बताया|

पर्यटन स्थलों में मैं जाना पसंद नहीं करता ख़ासकर ऐसे स्थान जो जंगलो को उजाड़कर या उजाड़ने के लिए बनाए गए हो| पर फिर भी पारंपरिक चिकित्सको के कहने पर देवी दर्शन के लिए चला गया| मैंने बाहर बनी अस्थायी दुकान पर आसन जमाया और साथी झरना देखने चले गए| मैंने आस-पास का नजारा देखा तो दिल कांप गया| सारे प्रिय वृक्ष अब दिवंगत कर दिए गए थे| मै उस ओर पीठ करके बैठ गया|

"आप वैज्ञानिक है क्या?" पीछे से आयी आवाज ने मेरा ध्यान भंग किया| ये आवाज डोंगर नरेश की थी| मैं उन्हें डोंगर माफिया डान कहना पसंद करता हूँ| उन्होने अपने साथियो के साथ मिलकर सारे डोंगरों यानो छोटे पहाडो में कब्जा करके मंदिर बनवा दिए हैं| अब छप्पड़ फाड़ कर कमाई हो रही है| उनके मुंह से महुआ की गंध आ रही थी| थोड़ी बातचीत के बाद उन्होंने मुझे किसी एक मंदिर के आजीवन सदस्य बनने की बात कही| सिर्फ पांच सौ एक रुपये में बात बन जाने वाली थी|

"इससे क्या फ़ायदा होगा?" मैंने पूछ ही लिया| वो बोले कि सामने तख्ती पर नाम आयेगा और आपके सुझावों को सुना जाएगा| मुझसे नहीं रहा गया, मैंने कहा कि आप मुझसे ज्यादा पैसे ले ले पर इस बात की गारंटी दे कि अब एक भी वनस्पति यहां से नहीं उखाड़ी जायेगी| वे बगले झांकने लगे| डोंगर माफिया के साथ-साथ लकड़ी माफिया की पदवी भी जो उनके पास है|

मैंने उनसे पूछा कि क्या आपने भावर नामक वनस्पति का नाम सुना है? वे बोले, बिलकुल सुना है, हिमालय में होती है और मरते इंसान को नया जीवन दे सकती है|

मैंने कहा कि वो आपके हिमालय में भी थी| वही जहां आप और हम खड़े हैं| फिर उन्हें अपने कैमरे में कैद तस्वीर दिखाई| वे रुआंसे होकर बोले कि इसको तो मैंने अपने हाथो से उखाड़कर जलाया है, अब मेरे को क्या मालूम कि यह दिव्य औषधीय है| यहांदुकान लगानी थी इसलिए हमने कचरा समझ के इसे जला दिया|

मैंने आगे कहा कि इस वनस्पति ने असंख्य लोगों की जान बचाई थी और आगे भी बचाती यदि आपकी दुकान यहां नहीं लगती| आप दुकान से जितना कमाएंगे उससे ज्यादा दुआए, आशीष और पुण्य आपको इसे बचाने से मिलेगा|

वे चिंता मग्न हो गए| शायद वे दुआओं, आशीषों और पुण्यो को कैश में बदलकर फायदे-घाटे का हिसाब लगा रहे थे| (क्रमश:)
